Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Osseiran called for the formation of a Lebanese senate as “the only method that could eliminate political sectarianism, protect sectarian rights and protect national interests.”

During a press conference on Thursday, Osseiran called for agreement on the formation of a senate, because he said it would play an essential role in preserving Lebanon’s stability and continuity.

He thanked all countries, specifically France, for supporting Lebanon, but added that unity, democracy and understanding among Arabs, as well as resistance against Israel, would better preserve Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty.
